"What nation are you" they ask.
"The nation of the Human Being" I reply.
I am all and I am none, just as you are.
Does not the drum we hear all originate
from one source, our mother's breast?
I am all nations and no nations.
I am your nation and you are mine.
We are put here to dance this circle
we call life together in love.

The Love That I Feel
I've seen alot of hurt & pain
I've seen my own blood flow
I've been afraid of the dark
I've been afraid to let go.
I've heard alot of cons & lies
& watched my money disappear
I've been afraid to try
I've been paralyzed by fear.
I've seen the scars of prejudice
I've paid the price of pride
I've had to run for my life
I've had to find a place to hide.
I've seen my friends put in cages
I've seen them break the strong
I've had to cover my eyes
I've had to admit that I was wrong.
I've seen trust grow strong
I've seen kindness that made me cry
I've seen love from the heart
I've seen trust you can't buy.
I've got friends I can trust
I've got a love that is real
& I am getting by
on the love that I feel.
This love I have is me.

I wrote this during a time of transformation last year. I find myself again going through
transformation. Maybe it's the same one and I'm starting to come out the other side.
Fragments
A life in fragments
On the floor
The pieces just don't
Fit together
Any more.
Like an image in a
Mirror shattered,
Trying to reflect the whole.
A new image
From the pieces
Gathered
Gracefully Unfolds.

Go west now in search of a land.
Your home lies beyond blistering sand.
In search for a settling place
your own dream within your own space...your own space.
Frontier holds our vision but is the challenge still held high?
We reach outside the mirrored cage,
but do we ever reach to wonder why?
We build our freedom as another turns our slave.
Are we much more than this?
...or will we challenge to our grave?
Open the star gate from deep behind our eyes.
I'll see you standing there,
together, you and I.
Color rainbows beyond acceptance of a setting sun.
If we can image this one more than half the battle's won.
I will create a world within that shines amidst a darkened sky.
A world will live that lives to love and chooses not to die.
Your thoughts solidify before the picture's realized...
...the picture realized
